Following the arrest of Haluk Levent in the 'fraud' and 'money laundering' investigation against the AHBAP Association, the famous singer's remarks from a program he attended years ago, 'Don't trust me too much, I can betray you all at any moment' and 'I will openly and brazenly devour it all myself,' have resurfaced on the agenda.

In the large-scale "fraud" and "money laundering" investigation coordinated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 18 people, including AHBAP Association Founder Haluk Levent, were arrested and sent to prison. After the operation, which had an earthquake-like impact, the famous singer's words from a program he attended 4 years ago, "Don't trust me too much, I can sell you all out at any moment," became a trending topic on social media again.

18 PEOPLE ARRESTED, NEW NAMES DETAINED IN SECOND WAVE

The operation carried out by the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Division was based on charges of "forming an organization to commit a crime," "qualified fraud," and "money laundering." Supported by reports from the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) and technical-physical surveillance data, the investigation revealed shocking details:

  • High amounts of cash movements inconsistent with the suspects' legal incomes and of unknown origin were identified.
  • It was determined that millions of liras were transferred from association-linked accounts to gambling and illegal betting platforms.
  • Records showed that numerous suspicious property transfers occurred in a chain among the suspects within a short period.

In the second wave of the investigation, new names including Oğuzhan Uğur were detained, while Haluk Levent and 17 others were arrested and referred to court.

"DON'T TRUST ME, I'LL SELL YOU ALL"

After Haluk Levent's arrest, attention turned to the statements the artist made 4 years ago on TV100's program hosted by Okan Bayülgen. In response to Bayülgen's question, "You've become Turkey's most trusted man, can we borrow money from you?" Levent, whose remarks at the time were thought to be ironic, made prophetic-like comments that broke sharing records on social media: "I'm telling you not to trust me too much. I can sell you all out at any moment. I've always said that. This trust thing, I think it's exaggerated."

"I WILL CONSUME THE ADVERTISING MONEY MYSELF, OPENLY"

In the same program, Levent criticized the greed of other famous figures in the market for acquiring property, saying, "They've bought 80 apartment buildings for bad days, it never ends, people trying to save themselves." His following sentences about future advertising offers were also found "significant" by readers after the MASAK reports: "I will consume it all myself, I promise. I mean, I will consume it openly for everyone to see, crunch it all up."

The famous singer, who was sent to prison due to irregularities in the association's accounts and allegations of illegal betting, saw his past "humorous" statements become one of the most discussed topics on social media after the operation.
