Hanuf Domrul, who lives in the Reyhanlı district of Hatay and is officially registered as born in 1926, draws attention with a life that has surpassed a century. Having witnessed five generations by seeing her great-grandchild, Grandma Hanuf is the eldest member of a large family of 171 people today, with her family grown from her 3 daughters and 4 sons. 100-year-old Hanuf Domrul is becoming the center of attention around her in Reyhanlı district of Hatay with her life story spanning a century. Domrul, who lives in Bağlar Neighborhood, was born in 1926 according to official records. However, according to her family's account, it is stated that her real age could be around 110, as her ID was issued years later.
Despite her advanced age, Grandma Hanuf continues her daily life with the support of her family and carries the joy of seeing her grandchild's grandchild, bringing five generations together under one roof.
SHE HAS A HUGE FAMILY OF 171 PEOPLE
Hanuf Domrul has 3 daughters and 4 sons. Together with her children, grandchildren, and their families, Domrul's total family population has reached 171 people.
The care of this centenarian is undertaken by her daughter Fatma Domrul Sağır, born in 1967. Sağır, who states that she has never been apart from her mother since the day she was born, says she now repays the love her mother once gave her with the same affection.
ACCORDING TO HER FAMILY, SHE WITNESSED MANY PERIODS OF HISTORY
Fatma Domrul Sağır explained that her mother's official age is 100, but her ID was issued when she was about 10 years old. According to information relayed by the family, Grandma Hanuf saw years of many historical developments, from the Atatürk era to the changes on the Turkey-Syria border.
Sağır stated that her mother has difficulty recalling some memories of the past due to her advanced age, but she loves chatting and spending time with her family.
"MY MOTHER IS THE BLESSING OF MY HOME"
Fatma Domrul Sağır, who has been taking care of her mother for years, used emotional expressions while describing the place of a mother's love in her life.
Sağır said, "My mother is the blessing of my home. I have been by my mother's side since I was born; I have never left. My mother took care of me, now I take care of my mother."
Noting that her mother has a good appetite and loves to chat, Sağır called on everyone to appreciate their parents. She described her mother's importance in her life with the words, "A mother is peace at home, blessing, and happiness."
Hanuf Domrul also thanked her daughter who cares for her, saying, "May God never take you away. Without you, I would die. My daughter takes care of me, may God be pleased with her."
