The prosecutor's office stated, "Reports claiming that an investigation has been launched against Galatasaray's Barış Alper Yılmaz and Abdülkerim Bardakcı within the scope of the betting and match-fixing investigation do not reflect the truth."
An announcement has been made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the allegations that have emerged related to the betting investigation closely concerning Turkish football. It was reported that the news about an investigation being initiated against Galatasaray players Barış Alper Yılmaz and Abdülkerim Bardakcı does not reflect the truth.
"ALLEGATIONS ARE BASELESS"
In the statement made by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was emphasized that no investigation or inquiry is being conducted against the two football players, and the allegations reflected in the public are baseless.
IT WAS ALLEGED THAT AN INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN INITIATED
Following a message allegedly belonging to the detained Galatasaray player Metehan Baltacı, which included the statements "They deleted Eren, Apo, and Barış and added me," it was claimed that Abdülkerim Bardakcı and Barış Alper Yılmaz were also included in the scope of the investigation.
20 PEOPLE HAD BEEN ARRESTED
After the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) announced the names involved in illegal betting, 39 suspects were taken into custody last week in the expanded football betting investigation. A judicial control decision was issued for 19 suspects, including referee Zorbay Küçük, while 20 suspects, including players Metehan Baltacı, Alassane Ndao, Mert Hakan Yandaş, and former Adana Demirspor President Murat Sancak, were arrested.
