While Hayko Cepkin's statement regarding Haluk Levent, "I don't trust him in financial matters," made a significant impact on the case file, artists Gülben Ergen and Elçin Sangu also made striking declarations about the process.
Details of the statements given by famous artists Hayko Cepkin, Gülben Ergen, and Elçin Sangu have emerged within the scope of the AHBAP investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. Hayko Cepkin's words, "I have known Haluk Levent for many years and do not trust him in financial matters," left a mark on the investigation file.
HAYKO CEPKIN: "I DO NOT TRUST HIM IN FINANCIAL MATTERS"
Artist Hayko Cepkin, who gave a statement as part of the investigation, stated that he had no money transactions with Haluk Levent and said the following:
"I have been involved in music for many years. I have known Haluk Levent for a long time, but I have had no money transactions with him. We once did a duet in a music video that was shot previously. I have no acquaintance or contact with the managers of the Ahbap Association. I did not donate to the said association during the earthquake or before or after it, and I have no statements or shares urging anyone to donate.
Indeed, I have known Haluk Levent for many years and do not trust him in financial matters. Because I do not trust him, I have made posts about him on Twitter. I trusted the Ahbap Association independently of Haluk Levent, but I could not make sense of the fact that Haluk Levent was its president."
"HE HAD SIMILAR ACTIONS YEARS AGO"
Reiterating in his statement that he did not provide financial support to the association, Cepkin stated that they only requested help for a children's event in Fethiye and concluded his words as follows:
"During the earthquake disaster, there were some famous people collecting aid and donations over the phone, but I was not among them. We organized an event for children as part of the April 23 celebrations at a flight school in Fethiye. We made sure that the children participating were orphans or in need. At this point, we asked for help from the Ahbap Association. Apart from that, I have no relationship. Haluk Levent had these and similar actions years ago as well. This situation was already known by many people."
GÜLBEN ERGEN: "LIKE EVERYONE, I AM VERY SAD"
Another name consulted as part of the investigation, Gülben Ergen, expressed her disappointment and victimization.
"Good deeds breed trouble. Like everyone, I am very sad. I also feel victimized. Like all well-intentioned people because I donated... Unfortunately, the money children saved from their allowances during the earthquake and fire times and sent was joined by our donation as well. I am very sad and very hurt."
ELÇİN SANGU: I DONATED 100 THOUSAND LIRA, OUR GOOD INTENTIONS WERE ABUSED
Actor Elçin Sangu also stated that after the February 6 earthquakes, she went to the association to participate in relief efforts and donated 100,000 TL, saying the following:
"Many of my friends from the earthquake zone were affected at that time. Thinking about how I could help, I first went to the Metropolitan Municipality and then to the headquarters of the AHBAP Association. There, I met Haluk Levent face to face for the first time. I personally donated 100,000 TL to the IBAN account of the AHBAP Association. At that time, since this IBAN information was approved by the Governor's Office and the association was acting in cooperation with many public institutions, I deposited the money with that trust.
At this point, I am sorry because our help was used in this way by Haluk Levent, and he abused our good intentions. At that time, many of our friends, including myself, participated in the work on a voluntary basis."
