The experiences of a high school girl who was subjected to sexual abuse by her father for 3 years in Ankara came to light when she applied to her guidance counselor. The young girl recounted that her father told her, “During the day you are my daughter, and at night you are my wife,” and “I am raising you for myself.” The court sentenced the mother, who was determined to have participated in the abuse, and the father to 30 years in prison each without reduction.
In Ankara, a verdict has been issued in the case opened after a high school girl reported that she had been subjected to sexual abuse by her father for three years. The court deemed the mother, who was determined to have aided the abuse, a co-perpetrator and sentenced both the mother and father to 30 years in prison each, without applying any reduction.
SHE TOLD HER GUIDANCE COUNSELOR
According to a report by Mesut Hasan Benli of Hürriyet; the girl, a 12th-grade student at an Anatolian high school in Ankara, applied to her school's guidance service on September 29, 2025, and stated that she had been subjected to sexual abuse by her father S.Ö. for three years.
An investigation was launched upon the report of her guidance counselor. The young girl, whose statement was taken at the Child Monitoring Center, said that her father told her “You are my daughter during the day, and my wife at night” and “I am raising you for myself,” and that he also gave her birth control pills.
Explaining that her mother E.Ö. also knew about what had happened and helped her father, the victimized child was taken under state protection after her statement.
THE MOTHER FIRST ACCEPTED, THEN CHANGED HER STATEMENT
While the father S.Ö., who was arrested within the scope of the investigation, denied the accusations, the mother E.Ö. confirmed her daughter's account in her statements at the prosecutor's office and the magistrate judge.
However, the mother changed her statement during the trial and claimed that she had given her previous statements under pressure. The father also did not accept the accusations in court.
THE MOTHER WAS ALSO CONSIDERED A CO-PERPETRATOR
The Ankara 12th Heavy Penal Court ruled that the mother did not merely aid the abuse, but participated in the crime as a co-perpetrator.
The court, taking into account that the abuse continued for a long time, applied the provisions on continuous offenses. The mother and father were sentenced to 30 years in prison each for the qualified sexual abuse of the child, without any reduction.
