At a gas station in Maslak, an individual attacked a businessman with a knife, saying, "I will kill you." Gas station employees, witnessing the attack, intervened with the jerrycans they grabbed. The assailant was arrested, and the incident was captured on camera moment by moment.
On February 20th at around 00:30 in Istanbul, businessman Savaş Zafer Soydan (55), who owns a real estate company, had dinner with his friends at a venue in Beşiktaş Bebek. After leaving the venue, Soydan saw an unfamiliar person waiting in front of his car as he was about to get in.
ATTACKED SAYING "I WILL KILL YOU"
After getting into his car, Soydan dropped off his friend at home and then entered a gas station located in Maslak. While he was getting fuel here, the person he had seen in Bebek started to attack him with a knife, saying "I will kill you."
EMPLOYEES INTERVENED WITH BOLLARDS
Station employees, who witnessed the attack, intervened with bollards they picked up. The incident was captured on security cameras second by second. After the incident, as the attacker fled, the employees reported the injured businessman to the medical teams. The medical teams, who arrived at the scene shortly after, took Soydan to the hospital for treatment after their initial intervention.
ARRESTED
Meanwhile, the Sarıyer Public Order Bureau teams, who initiated an investigation regarding the incident, began examining the security camera footage. After watching dozens of hours of footage, the police identified the suspect as Musa K. In ongoing operations, Musa K. was caught in the Kulaksız neighborhood of Beyoğlu. It was revealed that the suspect, whose statement was taken at the police station, had 6 criminal records. After completing the procedures, Musa K. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court for the crime of "intentional injury" and sent to prison.
