Hasan Zerzur, who killed his 21-year-old cousin with a knife in a dispute over a debt in Adana, was caught in Hatay while trying to flee to Syria. In his statement, the suspect said, "He owed me 5,000 TL. When he didn't pay, we fought, and I stabbed him. I regret it," and was arrested.
A blood-curdling incident occurred on May 13 at around 10:30 PM on Turhan Cemal Beriker Boulevard in Onur Neighborhood, Seyhan district, Adana. Syrian national Hasan Zerzur (32) argued with his cousin Ehmed Zerzur (21), who owed him 5,000 lira and failed to pay.
Murdered Ehmed Zerzur KILLED HIS COUSIN AND FLED The argument quickly turned into a fight, during which Hasan Zerzur stabbed his cousin in various parts of his body and fled. After initial medical intervention, Ehmed Zerzur was taken to the hospital by ambulance but died.
CAUGHT WHILE FLEEING TO SYRIA Teams from the Homicide Bureau launched an investigation and determined that the suspect, Hasan Zerzur, had left the city. Identified as preparing to flee to Syria, the suspect was caught while heading towards the border gate in the Reyhanlı district.
"HE DIDN'T GIVE ME MY 5,000 LIRA, I GOT ANGRY AND STABBED HIM" The detained suspect was taken to the Adana Police Department. During interrogation, the suspect said, "Ehmed owed me 5,000 lira. When he didn't pay, we argued and fought. I got angry and stabbed him. I regret it."
ARRESTED After processing at the police station, Hasan Zerzur was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the court.
