A lawsuit was filed against Mehmet K., who killed his friend by stabbing him in Adana, seeking aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of 'murder with monstrous intent and torture.' It was stated that the defendant tried to make the murder look like a traffic accident.
A lawsuit has been filed against the defendant, who was determined to have killed his friend in the car he claimed was involved in an accident with a knife in the Karaisalı district of Adana, seeking an aggravated life sentence for the crime of "murder with monstrous intent and by torture."
FOUND DEAD IN THE CAR
Following the completion of the investigation conducted by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the arrest of Mehmet K. (33) in connection with the discovery of Ahmet Tuncöz's (43) body in a car in the Hacıkırı neighborhood on May 3, an indictment was prepared.
In the indictment accepted by the Adana 10th Heavy Penal Court, it was stated that Tuncöz and Mehmet K., who were friends, went to the location of the incident in a vehicle.
The indictment included information that the defendant, who killed his friend during an argument that broke out in the car for an unknown reason, crashed his car into rocks to "give the appearance of a traffic accident," and that MOBESE and security camera footage along the route were examined to shed light on the incident.
HE REMOVED HIS ORGANS
The indictment noted that Mehmet K. only reported the matter as a "traffic accident" to the 112 Emergency Call Center he contacted by phone, and included the following statements:
"It has been determined that the defendant stabbed the victim, causing his internal organs to protrude, and intentionally killed him. Although he stated in his testimony that he had a traffic accident, reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, and that all events occurred within 10-15 minutes, it was established that he called his wife at 20:43 to report the accident, but called the 112 Emergency Call Center at 21:44 to say he had a traffic accident. There is a 1-hour time gap between his initial statement about the accident and the notification, and when he called the emergency line, he did not mention injuring the victim."
HE CRASHED THE CAR INTO ROCKS TO FAKE AN ACCIDENT
In the indictment, it was stated that the vehicle was found at the scene with the handbrake engaged and in first gear, and the following assessment was made: "Since it is established that the defendant, after killing the victim through torture with monstrous intent, placed him in the back seat of the car, and, to escape the crime, drove the vehicle towards the rocks extending down the road, attempting to 'disguise the murder as a traffic accident,' it is claimed and demanded on behalf of the public that defendant Mehmet K. be punished with an aggravated life sentence for the crime of 'murder with monstrous intent and by torture.'"
"I HAD AN ACCIDENT WHILE TRYING TO TAKE HIM TO THE HOSPITAL"
The defendant, in his statement included in the indictment, claimed that he argued with his friend in the car. Denying that he faked a "traffic accident," Mehmet K. gave the following statement:
"He hit me on the head with a hard object. I stopped the car and swung the knife I had in my pocket randomly. I wanted to take Ahmet to the hospital, but while driving, I lost control of the steering wheel and had a traffic accident. Then I called the 112 Emergency Call Center and explained the situation. The entire incident occurred within 10-15 minutes. I did not deliberately park the car and fake an accident."
The trial of the detained defendant will begin in the coming days.
