In Antalya, it was learned that 65-year-old Sebahattin Küpeli, who was stabbed to death during an argument over a 150 thousand lira debt, had come from Izmir to Antalya 15 days ago to work and earn money for a sacrificial animal.

It was revealed that Sebahattin Küpeli (65), killed in a dispute by former employee Bünyamin T. who was owed 150 thousand lira by the employer in Antalya, had come from Izmir to Antalya to earn money for a sacrificial animal.

The incident occurred around 19:00 yesterday at 6950 Street, Varsak Menderes Neighborhood, Kepez district. Bünyamin T. called B.D., who runs an asphalt business and for whom he worked, regarding his 150 thousand TL debt. Unable to reach B.D., Bünyamin T. contacted Sebahattin Küpeli, B.D.'s relative who also worked at the same workplace, by phone. Bünyamin T. argued and exchanged insults with Küpeli on the phone before going to the location of the incident. There, he continued the argument with Küpeli. As the argument escalated, Bünyamin T. took a knife from his car and attacked Küpeli.

4 STAB WOUNDS

During the scuffle, Bünyamin T. stabbed Küpeli in the left shoulder, left arm, left cheek, and back of the head. Küpeli hit Bünyamin T.'s head with an iron rod and a stick. Küpeli collapsed after receiving the stab wounds. Following a report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Severely injured Sebahattin Küpeli was taken by ambulance to Kepez State Hospital. Küpeli could not be saved.

CAUGHT WITH THE MURDER WEAPON

Teams from the Public Order Department's Homicide Bureau apprehended Bünyamin T. along with the murder weapon. Bünyamin T. was taken to Antalya City Hospital as a precaution, then to the police station. After procedures at the Homicide Bureau were completed, Bünyamin T. was first taken for a health check in the morning and then referred to the courthouse. While being brought out from the health check, when asked "Why did you commit the murder? Are you sorry?", Bünyamin T. said, "Tell B.D. not to cheat anyone out of their rights. He doesn't pay his workers' money. I've been working for 5 months without pay. They pushed me to the limit. Of course I'm sorry." It was also learned that Bünyamin T. admitted to the charges in his statement to the police.

"HE KILLED MY FATHER OVER A DEBT FROM THE COMPANY"

The lifeless body of the deceased Küpeli was taken from the morgue by his son İsrafil Küpeli after procedures. The son Küpeli was seen struggling to stand. İsrafil Küpeli stated that his father had come to Antalya for work 15 days ago. Küpeli said, "My father argued with another employee at the company he worked for over a debt issue of the company. Then he went to where my father was and murdered him with a knife there. He stabbed him in the back, neck, abdomen, everywhere, and left him. I want this person to receive the harshest punishment. This is a brutal murder, not a normal thing. Why is he killing my father over a debt from the company? A person cannot be this cruel. I want this person to receive the harshest punishment. My father owes no one anything. My father is a retired man and came here just to work for 1-1.5 months to earn pocket money for the sacrifice holiday. Aside from that, he had no issue with anyone. The person who committed the incident hadn't been working at the company for 9-10 days anyway. He was drinking. He was already drunk yesterday. He was also drunk at the time of the incident," he said. Sebahattin Küpeli's body was taken to Izmir Karabağlar for burial.

Meanwhile, it was learned that Bünyamin T., who committed the murder, has 19 records for crimes including intentional wounding, assault, sexual harassment, insult, and threats.
