In Ulubey district of Ordu, a 38-year-old minibus driver who suffered a heart attack while driving stopped the vehicle by controlled collision with barriers. The driver, who prevented a potential disaster, died at the hospital where he was taken.
The driver of a minibus providing passenger transportation between Ulubey and Ordu, Cantürk Topal, fell ill while driving in the Çatallı Mahallesi area.
HE PREVENTED A DISASTER WHILE FIGHTING FOR HIS LIFE
Topal, who was determined to have suffered a heart attack, struggled to maintain control of the steering wheel despite feeling unwell. Successfully keeping the minibus under control, Topal stopped the vehicle by crashing into roadside barriers in a controlled manner. Thanks to the driver's calm intervention, the passengers on the minibus escaped the accident without injury.
COULD NOT BE SAVED
Upon notification, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. After receiving initial medical attention, Topal was taken to Ulubey State Hospital by ambulance but could not be saved despite doctors' efforts. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
