A producer in the Serik district of Antalya distributed about 4 tons of tomatoes to citizens for free after failing to find a buyer at the wholesale market. The distribution, held at Çınaraltı Square, attracted great interest from the public. Producer Turan Kıvrak highlighted price fluctuations and said he preferred to share his products with citizens rather than selling them.
Farming in the Aksu district of Antalya, Turan Kıvrak followed a different method when he couldn't sell his self-produced tomatoes at the wholesale market.
HE DISTRIBUTED 4 TONS TO CITIZENS FOR FREE
About 4 tons of tomatoes loaded into crates on a pickup truck were brought to Serik Çınaraltı Square and distributed to citizens free of charge. Many citizens who heard about the free tomato distribution flocked to the square in a short time. Citizens took the tomatoes they filled into bags they brought with them and took them home. It was observed that there was occasional congestion during the distribution.
"5 LIRA? HERE, IT'S FREE"
Producer Turan Kıvrak drew attention to the price fluctuations in the agricultural sector and said he preferred to share his products with citizens rather than selling them. Kıvrak said, "As citizens of the Republic of Turkey, whether it is 100 lira or 5 lira, we distribute to our people. Even when it is 100 lira, it is difficult for us to produce. Today there is abundance. Come on friends, come on citizens. 5 lira? Come on, it's free."
Citizens who received the free distributed tomatoes thanked the producer.
