The brother of the individual detained on the order of the Trabzon Chief Public Prosecutor's Office reacted to those who filmed the video, saying, 'You provoked the man.' The brother apologized to Kurdish citizens for his sibling's remarks.
A football fan who came to Diyarbakır to watch the Trabzonspor match drew widespread reaction for his remarks, "The best of the Kurds is the one in the grave." After the footage spread, many people called for legal action against the individual in question.
Following the reactions, the individual was detained by the order of the Trabzon Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
"YOU SET THIS MAN ON FIRE"
After the incident, the detained individual's brother made a statement on his social media account. Reacting to those who filmed the video and put a microphone in front of his brother, the brother said the following:
"The perpetrator of the incident the other day is my brother. Hey Okan, Mami, you set this man's head on fire. You are responsible for filming this video and giving him the microphone. My sister-in-law is Kurdish, my nephews are Kurdish. Curse on whoever did this and had it done."
APOLOGIZED TO KURDISH CITIZENS
The brother also apologized to Kurdish citizens for the expressions his brother used. Drawing attention to the Kurdish individuals in his family, the person continued his statement as follows:
"I apologize to the Kurds. My sister-in-law is Kurdish, my nephews are Kurdish. They are all dear to me. I apologize. May God protect you."
