In the Karşıyaka district of İzmir, a taxi driver saw his colleague collapse at a taxi stand and rushed to help him, but he also fell ill at that moment. It was later learned that the two friends suffered consecutive heart attacks and, despite all interventions at the hospital they were taken to, they could not be saved. Those moments were captured on security cameras.
The incident that occurred at a taxi stand in the Karşıyaka district broke hearts. Zeki Aldemir, a 75-year-old radio operator at the stand, suddenly fell ill and suffered a heart attack early in the morning. His colleague Ercan Kiremitçiler (57), who noticed the situation while finishing his work and heading home, immediately rushed to help. Other employees who witnessed the incident were at a loss for what to do and reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Health teams. Health officials instructed them over the phone to check Aldemir's pulse. While checking his colleague's wrist, Kiremitçiler collapsed from the intense stress he was experiencing.
TWO FRIENDS DIED ONE AFTER ANOTHER
Shocked by the situation that unfolded in quick succession, the taxi stand employees tried to intervene with Ercan Kiremitçiler this time. The health teams that arrived at the scene determined that both individuals had suffered heart attacks. Zeki Aldemir and Ercan Kiremitçiler were taken to the hospital by ambulance, but despite all the interventions by doctors, they lost their lives.

Meanwhile, the final moments of the two were captured on the camera located inside the stand. The footage shows Zeki Aldemir, who was sitting in a chair, collapsing, and at that moment, Ercan Kiremitçiler, who was present and helping his friend, suddenly fell to the ground.
Erkan Özkan, the President of the İzmir Drivers and Automobile Tradesmen's Chamber, who came to the taxi stand to offer condolences, said, "Our brother Zeki, who has been known in this community for years, is having a heart attack. Subsequently, our driver friend named Ercan also tries to help him, and at the same time, he also suffers a heart attack. Unfortunately, both of them passed away. We are in great sorrow. It is truly shocking that such an event happened to two people at the same time. That is why we are here to share the pain of our friends at the stand. We pray for both of our friends. I extend my condolences to the employees of our stand and their families. May we find peace."
Mesut Bedir, the president of the taxi stand, expressed his sadness over the loss of his employees, stating, "A very different event occurred that we have never heard or seen before. We are really devastated and feeling bad. Our employee, our brother Zeki, collapsed here and suffered a heart attack. While waiting for the ambulance, our friend Ercan, who intervened, also suffered a heart attack at the same time. We have lost two dear ones. We cannot express more due to our sorrow. All our stand friends are sad," he said.
THEY WERE BELOVED PEOPLE
Olcay Çakır, who works at the hairdresser across from the taxi stand, stated, "Uncle Zeki collapsed while sitting on the chair in front of the booth. Then, friends immediately tried to intervene and help him. Our driver brother Merdan immediately called for an ambulance. The ambulance provided instructions over the phone on how to intervene. They were trying to help according to those instructions. Later, Ercan, who was next to him, also collapsed in the same way. We learned that both of them died at the same time. The incident happened second by second. Uncle Zeki was a beloved person here. He would help all of us. He was a natural person. He was one of us. This is the first time I have seen and heard something like this in my life. We are in shock," he added.
The colleagues of Zeki Aldemir and Ercan Kiremitçiler, who lost their lives due to heart attacks, expressed that the situation they experienced was shocking and that they were in great sorrow.
