A 71-year-old man named Hüseyin Derin, who was held in Karabük T Type Closed Prison for shooting and killing his daughter-in-law with a shotgun despite his son's divorce, committed suicide by hanging himself.

FIRED 2 SHOTS
The incident occurred on January 18 in Kızılbel village, affiliated with the district. 71-year-old Hüseyin Derin argued with his former daughter-in-law Gönül Karakök over the reason of "who did you talk to on the phone" despite her divorce from his son. As the argument escalated, Hüseyin Derin fired 2 shots at his former daughter-in-law with a shotgun. Karakök, who was injured in the back and neck area, died in the hospital where she was taken.
SHAVED AFTER THE MURDER
After the incident, Hüseyin Derin, who fled through the mountain road, went to a barber in the village center and said, "Shave me. I shot my daughter-in-law, I will surrender," and after the shave, he surrendered to a gendarmerie team passing by. Meanwhile, it was claimed that Gönül Karakök, a mother of 3 children, divorced to receive the pension granted to her by her deceased father, but continued to live with her husband and family.
HE HANGED HIMSELF
Hüseyin Derin, who was arrested by the court he was brought to, was taken to Karabük Type T Closed Prison. Derin, who was held there, committed suicide by hanging himself. An investigation has been launched regarding Derin's suicide.
