During a nature trip, a man who found a yogurt container buried in the ground encountered an unexpected sight when he lifted its lid. Inside the container, numerous ants and larva- and pupa-like structures were seen.
A man out walking in nature noticed a white plastic container embedded in the soil. Opening the lid of the container, whose surroundings were covered with soil and roots, the man saw intense activity inside. In the images, it drew attention that the inside of the container was full of many small living creatures.
WHEN THE LID WAS LIFTED, AN ANT COLONY EMERGED
Along with ants moving inside the container, whitish larva- and pupa-like structures were also seen. This image suggested that the plastic container may have been used as a nest by an ant colony.
It is known that ants can keep their eggs, larvae and pupae together in sheltered areas. It is assessed that the structures inside the container may also be related to the colony's developmental stages.
A YOGURT CONTAINER TURNED INTO A SMALL HABITAT
It is thought that the container remaining under the soil may have provided a sheltered environment for the ants. While the density in the images attracts attention, it is not known how long the colony has been here and how many ants it consists of. This scene that emerged inside an ordinary yogurt container once again showed that small creatures in nature can use unexpected areas as habitats.
