A CURE FOR EVERY AILMENT
Idris Bilici, a 65-year-old resident of Karapürçek district, discovered aronia fruit as a solution for his wife's cholesterol problem through his research. This fruit, which strengthens the immune system, reduces cholesterol levels, improves blood circulation, regulates the digestive system, and has protective effects against heart diseases, is something Bilici wanted to grow on his own. With the grant support he received, he expanded his garden.
"WE CAN'T KEEP UP WITH ORDERS"
Idris Bilici explained that he planted aronia because he thought it would be good for his wife's cholesterol problem, saying, "I dedicated my garden to this fruit. After planting, we also sent the growing aronias to our friends. Right now, we can't keep up with orders. This year, the aronias have ripened, and we will start harvesting."
Bilici also mentioned the known benefits of aronia, stating, "The characteristic of this fruit is that it is good in the early stages of many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. Aronia is not widely grown around Sakarya, but I know it is produced in Yalova, Bursa, and Düzce. It is said to be an alternative to hazelnuts. At the same time, this fruit is also used in the pharmaceutical industry. When you eat 30 grams of aronia on an empty stomach, you can sleep very well at night," he said.
COMPLETELY ORGANIC, 500 TL PER KILOGRAM
Idris Bilici stated that he grows the fruit completely organically, saying, "This year we are selling it for 500 TL per kilogram. I do not use any artificial fertilizers while producing this fruit; I grew it completely organically. I used animal manure to grow it."
