Police officer Turgut Külünk, who served in the Yalova Provincial Police Department, was martyred in the clash that occurred during the operation against the terrorist organization ISIS. "UNCLE, MY FATHER HAS BECOME A MARTYR, MAY OUR HEADS BE STRONG"
The martyr's brother Engin Külünk recounted that his nephew Eslem, who was at the hospital, called the family to deliver the sad news. Külünk noted that his nephew first reached out to his aunt, saying, "My martyr's daughter Eslem first calls her aunt, that is, my sister. She explains the incident and says that her father has become a martyr. Then my sister immediately called me and explained the situation. I then called my nephew Eslem. I asked, 'Is it true?' My nephew said, 'Uncle, my father has become a martyr, may our heads be strong.' This is how we received the news at 09:30 in the morning. I immediately went to my father's side. They were unaware of the incident. I came and explained that my brother had become a martyr. The rest developed as is already known. May our heads be strong."
On the other hand, Düzce Governor Selçuk Aslan, Provincial Police Chief İbrahim Ergüder, and Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Mustafa Tetik visited the martyr's family to convey their condolences.
