"In the Tosya district of Kastamonu, a jeep caught fire from its engine components while in motion, rendering it unusable. The driver, who had purchased the vehicle about two months ago and managed to save himself by jumping out the window, watched helplessly as his car burned, stating that he had been saving money for years to buy a car and that all his efforts had gone to waste."
In the Tosya district of Kastamonu, a fire broke out in the engine compartment of a jeep driven by Hasan Ağacıkoğlu while it was moving at the Tosya State Hospital junction.
ESCAPED BY JUMPING THROUGH THE WINDOW Noticing the fire, the driver stopped the vehicle and tried to get out. Unable to open the locked doors, the driver jumped out through the window. Upon a report to the 112 Emergency Call Center, Tosya Municipality Fire Department teams and Tosya Forestry Management Directorate teams were dispatched to the scene. The fire was extinguished by the fire crews who arrived. No injuries occurred in the incident, but the jeep became unusable. An investigation into the fire has been initiated.
"WE WERE DEEPLY HURT" Describing the moment of the incident, driver Hasan Ağacıkoğlu said, "We were deeply hurt by this incident. I was driving the vehicle. I was inside the car when a ball of flames erupted. When the fireball came out, I had difficulty getting out of the car. With a survival instinct, I barely threw myself outside and managed to get out with the help of friends."
"I HAD BEEN TRYING TO BUY THIS VEHICLE FOR 2-3 YEARS" Ağacıkoğlu, who claims the vehicle was sold to him with missing parts by a car dealership and states he has a lawsuit against the seller, said, "Actually, my heart was broken 1-2 months ago when I first bought this vehicle. I bought this car from a dealer in Osmancık district of Çorum. After the negotiation ended, we went to the notary, where it turned out the vehicle's registration was under someone else's name. The other guy, also a dealer, came to the notary and gave us the registration. We left the notary and came back. When we returned, we took the car to an industrial area for inspection and noticed missing parts. Some parts of the car were stolen, some were welded or glued. When we called the dealer, they said, 'We are giving the car like this, we delivered it this way.' We said we would file a lawsuit and filed a complaint the same day. Later, the official process was completed, and they called us saying, 'We'll have your car repaired.' They came to Tosya with a tow truck and took the car away. It waited in front of a repair shop in Çorum for 8-10 days. The mechanic called us and said, 'They aren't paying for the car, they aren't backing it; I'm not that kind of tradesman, take the car back.' I sent a tow truck from here and brought the car back. Within 4 days, our car caught fire. The cause of the fire was most likely due to the missing parts.
