While parked in Hatay, Serap Mutlu noticed a vehicle that started moving because the handbrake was not engaged. She intervened and managed to stop the car with one hand, preventing a major disaster. Mutlu said, "In that moment, I decided to stop it without any hesitation. I'm glad I did, because the traffic on this street was very heavy. If I hadn't held the vehicle, it could have caused a great tragedy."
In the incident that took place in the Subaşı neighborhood of the Defne district in Hatay, Serap Mutlu, who parked her vehicle in front of the gym she came to for sports, noticed that another parked vehicle started to move. Without thinking, Mutlu managed to stop the vehicle with one hand by getting behind it.
PREVENTED A DISASTER WITH ONE HAND
The moments when the woman stopped the vehicle without a handbrake and prevented a disaster were captured by security cameras. Mutlu, who waited behind the vehicle without a handbrake for a while, managed to prevent a possible accident when the owner of the vehicle arrived.
"I STOPPED WITHOUT HESITATION AT THAT MOMENT"
Describing the events, Serap Mutlu said, "A few days ago, I was coming to the gym, I parked my car. I took my belongings from the car and started walking from this side. Then I suddenly noticed a vehicle rolling back. When I turned and looked carefully, it was slowly starting to roll and was gaining speed. At that moment, I decided to stop it without hesitation. I'm glad I did, because traffic was very heavy on this street. Fast vehicles are passing on the bypass road. It's great that no one got hurt. First, the owner of the gym inside said that I was his hero. I actually realized how important the incident was later. If I hadn't stopped the vehicle, it could have caused a major disaster," she said.
"IT'S GOOD TO BE A LITTLE MORE CAREFUL"
Continuing her words, Mutlu said, "When my son watched the video, he said, 'Mom, you held it with one hand.' There is a benefit to sports. Because it could have really been a disaster, that's why I didn't hesitate at all. If it happened again, I would do it again. I say a little caution is needed, and small mistakes can lead to big problems. It's beneficial to be a little more careful. Let's not forget to pull the handbrake."
