Mehmet Akif Tosun, who was in the process of getting a divorce in Konya, strangled his father during an argument; after spending the night in the same house with the corpse, the suspect was caught near Eskişehir and brought to court.
Mehmet Akif Tosun (33), a father of two who is in the process of getting a divorce in Konya, strangled his father Tahsin Tosun (59) to death. After spending the night with his father's corpse in the same house, Tosun fled and was caught near Eskişehir.
The incident occurred on Sunday in the top floor of a three-story building on Denizciler Street in the Sahibata neighborhood of Meram district. Due to severe incompatibility, Mehmet Akif Tosun, who was in the process of getting a divorce from his wife, had moved in with his father some time ago. This led to a dispute between the parties the day before. As the argument escalated, Mehmet Akif Tosun strangled his father Tahsin Tosun to death.
WHEN HE FLED, HE CALLED HIS SISTER
After spending the night with his father's corpse in the same house, Tosun left Konya and called his sister to tell her that he had killed their father and that the corpse was in the house. Relatives who entered the house with the police encountered the lifeless body of Tahsin Tosun. Tosun's body was taken to the Konya Forensic Medicine Institution for autopsy.
HE WAS REFERRED TO THE COURT
Teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Public Security Branch Directorate, which initiated an investigation into the incident, captured Mehmet Akif Tosun on the highway near Eskişehir. It was noted that Tahsin Tosun had a previous record with the police for various offenses, and he was referred to the court today after his statement.
