In Bilecik, a 26-year-old driver who ignored the gendarmerie's 'Stop' warning, fled, and was caught after a chase, receiving a record traffic fine of 420,743 TL, ended his life at home hours after being released.

H.Ö., who was driving without a license and using an unplated vehicle in Bilecik, committed suicide after being penalized for fleeing without obeying the gendarmerie's 'stop' warning.

DID NOT OBEY THE STOP WARNING, FLED

The incident, which turned into a tragedy yesterday, began in the Pelitözü neighborhood of the central district. H.Ö., 26, who was driving a Tofaş Tempra vehicle in the Pelitözü Gölpark area, did not obey the gendarmerie teams' 'stop' warning, entered the wrong way, and started fleeing rapidly. After a hot pursuit, the young driver was caught red-handed along with his vehicle in a field near the Küçükyenice village area of the Gölpazarı district.

A RECORD FINE OF 420 THOUSAND LIRAS WAS ISSUED

The escape of H.Ö., who was taken into custody and ignored the rules, cost him a heavy price. The individual was fined a total of 420,743 TL in traffic penalties for numerous violations including driving while his license was revoked, not obeying the stop warning, driving against traffic, attaching an incomplete license plate to the vehicle, not wearing a seatbelt, ignoring warning signs, and unauthorized posting of banners on the vehicle. After the procedures were completed and his statement was taken, H.Ö. was released, and his vehicle was towed to an impound lot.

LOCKED HIMSELF IN HIS ROOM AND ENDED HIS LIFE

After the procedures at the gendarmerie, the young driver was dropped off at his home in the Beşiktaş neighborhood by his friends and went directly to his room. Shortly after, upon hearing a gunshot echoing in the house, his mother rushed to the room and found her son lying on the floor covered in blood. Upon the mother's report of a nervous breakdown, 112 emergency service teams were quickly dispatched to the address.

Health teams arriving at the scene determined that H.Ö., who had shot himself with an unlicensed shotgun, had lost his life. As the cries of the mother who lost her son echoed throughout the street, police teams took extensive security measures around the house. The young driver's lifeless body was taken to the morgue for an autopsy, and a comprehensive investigation was initiated into this tragic incident.
