In Gaziantep, a man released from prison took his wife hostage. While panic prevailed in the neighborhood, following prolonged persuasion efforts by teams at the scene, the suspect was taken into custody in an operation. The woman held hostage was rescued unharmed.
In the Karataş neighborhood of Gaziantep's Şahinbey district, tense moments were experienced in the morning hours. According to claims, an individual whose name has not yet been learned, recently released from prison, took his wife, with whom he lived in the same house, hostage. Upon citizens in the area reporting the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center, numerous police, health, and fire department teams were dispatched to the scene.
HOSTAGE WOMAN RESCUED IN BREATHTAKING OPERATION
Police teams arriving at the area took extensive security measures while conducting lengthy efforts to persuade the individual. As a result of the operation, the suspect was taken into custody, and the woman held hostage was rescued without injury. It was learned that the woman, taken to an ambulance by health teams for a check-up, is in good health condition.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
