The Disciplinary Board had previously announced that the 2-match ban on playing without spectators imposed on the İzmir team due to the "incidents caused by their fans and members" in the Göztepe-Fenerbahçe match in the second week of the Trendyol Super League was reduced to 1 match.
INCIDENTS IN THE GÖZTEPE-FENERBAHÇE MATCH
In the second week of the Super League, the Göztepe-Fenerbahçe match was marked by the throwing and dropping of foreign objects at Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç. The match, which Fenerbahçe led 2-0 in the first half, turned chaotic in the early minutes of the second half. Fenerbahçe President Ali Koç went to the away stand to support the yellow-navy fans who couldn't enter the stands. While leaving the stand under security measures and heading towards the tunnel, bottles and foreign objects were thrown at President Koç from the stands. Ali Koç fell to the ground after being hit by a bottle and pushed by officials, and then a scuffle broke out between the host club officials and Ali Koç and his bodyguards. Referee Kadir Sağlam stopped the game during this time, and the match resumed after President Koç left the field.
HOUSE ARREST SENTENCE
Fatih Özkan, who testified in court, defended himself by saying, "I tried to get Ali Koç out of the field. The ground was wet, and I couldn't control my speed and accidentally pushed him forcefully. I had no intention of causing harm." However, this defense did not prevent Özkan from receiving a penalty in the legal process. The court sentenced Özkan to house arrest.
APOLOGY FROM ALI KOÇ AND FENERBAHÇE
