A young girl who could not remove an earring just minutes before the doors closed for TYT, the first session of the university entrance exam YKS, was not allowed in despite all efforts by parents, missing the deadline; the candidate who missed the exam collapsed in tears in front of the school.
The first stage of the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS), the Basic Proficiency Test (TYT), which will determine the future of millions of candidates, witnessed great excitement and rush across Turkey.
In accordance with the strict rules in the ÖSYM guide, the doors of the exam buildings were firmly closed at 10:01 AM. Candidates arriving after this time were not allowed in, and dramatic moments occurred at the doors as in every year.
PARENTS MOBILIZED BUT THE JEWELRY DID NOT COME OFF
At one of the exam centers, a young girl about to enter the hall was caught by the jewelry obstacle. Upon the warning of security guards, the young girl tried to remove the jewelry, but when she failed, other parents waiting at the school gate became almost mobilized.
During those critical minutes of racing against time, parents made great efforts to remove the earring, but all attempts were unsuccessful. As seconds ticked by rapidly, the doors of the school where the exam would take place closed.
COLLAPSED ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL
The young girl, who was not allowed inside due to the accessory obstacle and whose year of effort was wasted in minutes, experienced a great shock as the doors closed. Realizing she missed the exam, the unfortunate candidate burst into tears and collapsed on the ground in the school yard, despite those around trying to console her.
