The YKS marathon continues with all its excitement on its second day. As the second session of the marathon, the Field Proficiency Tests (AYT), has ended, the third session of the YKS, the YDT, will begin at 15:45.

The excitement of the second day of the Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS), where millions of candidates sweat for their university dreams, has begun. The second session of the exam, the Field Proficiency Tests (AYT), started at 10:15 today.

EXAM 180 MINUTES

While 1 million 627 thousand 960 candidates participated in AYT, the exam was conducted in 4 thousand 400 buildings and 86 thousand 761 halls across Turkey. Candidates were asked a total of 160 questions from Turkish Language and Literature-Social Sciences-1, Social Sciences-2, Mathematics, and Science tests. Candidates were given 180 minutes for the exam.

THIRD SESSION YDT AT 15:45

The third and final session of YKS, the Foreign Language Test (YDT), will be held today at 15:45. In the exam, which will be conducted in 5 languages including German, Arabic, French, English, and Russian, candidates will answer 80 questions.

YDT, with a total of 203 thousand 639 candidates applying, will see the highest participation in the English test with 195 thousand 51 candidates. Candidates will be given 120 minutes for the exam.

DOORS CLOSE 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE EXAM

According to the reminder by ÖSYM, candidates will not be admitted to exam buildings after 10:00 for AYT and after 15:30 for YDT. Candidates must bring their exam entry documents and photo ID with them.

For candidates who lost their ID cards or have incomplete ID information, population directorates will be open until 15:30 today.

YOUNGEST CANDIDATE 16, OLDEST CANDIDATE 87 YEARS OLD

This year, a total of 2 million 425 thousand 628 candidates applied for YKS. According to information shared by ÖSYM President Prof. Dr. Bayram Ali Ersoy, the youngest candidate for the exam is 16, and the oldest candidate is 87 years old.

Of the applying candidates, 1 million 324 thousand 509 were women, and 1 million 101 thousand 119 were men. Additionally, 20 thousand 158 candidates aged 50 and over also participated in the exam for their university dream.

RESULTS WILL BE ANNOUNCED ON JULY 22

After the first session TYT held yesterday, candidates will sweat in the AYT and YDT sessions today. YKS results are expected to be announced by ÖSYM on July 22, 2026. Following the results, the preference process will begin.
