In the central Seyhan district, carpet cleaner Mehmet Emin Evşin found 20,000 lira, 50 euros, and credit cards in three wallets inside a blanket he took from a customer for cleaning. Saying "We learned from our elders, we don't eat haram," the tradesman immediately returned to the customer's home to hand over the money. While expecting thanks, he was met with the woman's question: "Where is the bag I put the wallets in?" Footage captured by the honest tradesman of those moments caused great astonishment due to the woman's attitude.
In Adana, Mehmet Emin Evşin, a carpet cleaner, found wallets containing 20,000 lira, 50 euros, and credit cards inside a blanket he had taken from a customer for washing. When Evşin returned the money and cards, the woman asked, "Where is my bag?" Evşin said, "We returned the money and cards. This is what we learned from our elders."
Mehmet Emin Evşin, who runs a carpet washing facility in the Akkapı neighborhood of central Seyhan district, received 2 quilts and 2 blankets from his customer for washing. Evşin left the area to avoid blocking traffic and, upon arriving at the next customer's home, opened one blanket to attach a label. He noticed 3 wallets falling from the blanket, containing 20,000 lira, 50 euros, and credit cards. Calling his customer, Evşin returned to her home and handed over the money and credit cards. The female customer then asked where the bag she had placed the wallets in was. Evşin recorded the moment with his mobile phone camera.
"WE CALLED THE CUSTOMER AND INFORMED THEM"
Mehmet Emin Evşin described the incident, saying, "On Saturday morning, we took 2 quilts and 2 blankets from our customer. Normally, we write the customer's name on the door and attach it to the items they gave us. Since there was traffic on the street at that time, we went to the next customer's address. When I opened the blanket, 3 wallets fell out. Checking the wallets, I found 20,000 lira, 50 euros, and credit cards. We called the customer and informed them. I took them back and delivered them."
"SHE ASKED FOR THE BAG WITHOUT THANKING ME"
Evşin stated that if something like this happened to him, he would do the same again, adding, "If I had bad intentions, I would never have told the customer about the situation. We returned the money and cards we found. This is what we learned from our elders; we don't consume what is forbidden. I shared the video I took on social media. The customer's question, 'Where is my bag,' became a topic of discussion. When I put the wallet down, the bag blew away because of the windy weather. She asked about the bag without thanking me."
