A jeweler who spoke to ATV News stated that he suspected one of the gold pieces brought by a customer to buy a house based on its appearance, and during checks, it was found to be of low quality. The jeweler said, "It should be 22 karats, but it turned out to be of a lower quality. We did not buy this gold." The citizen who wanted to exchange his gold expressed his disappointment with the words, "I paid so much money, I saved every penny. I say it shouldn't be halal."

Jeweler Abdurrahman Yel warned against especially newly opened and unreliable businesses, stating, "It is important to look for someone who has been in the trade for a long time. Substandard quarter, half, and gram gold are being sold. It may look like 22 karats but could actually be 20 or 18 karats. The color difference is not noticeable, and if you are not an expert in the field, it is very difficult to distinguish."
