Despite the heavy rain, citizens who queued overnight were able to enter the store after hours of waiting. Long lines formed both inside the shopping mall and outside throughout the opening day, with queues occasionally exceeding a kilometer.
THEY CAME FROM NIGHT, WAITED FOR HOURS IN THE RAIN
Campaigns on many technology products, especially mobile phones, with a 50% discount in a console game attracted those wanting to buy gifts for report cards, mid-term surprises, and birthday presents to the mall from the early hours of the morning. Those who spent the night in their cars, those waiting with camping chairs, and citizens who came prepared for the rain did not leave the queue despite the long wait.
As the density inside the mall spilled outside, store officials provided raincoats and umbrella support. Hot soup was offered to those waiting in line, and it was reported that the opening program was completed without any negative incidents.
1,000 TL GIFT VOUCHER FOR 2,000 PEOPLE
In addition to discounts on technology products, the announcement that 2,000 people would receive a gift voucher worth 1,000 TL for the opening further increased the crowd. The queues that formed in front of the supermarket from midnight, exceeding a kilometer, were captured on camera. After a long wait, citizens rushed to the supermarket after receiving their gift vouchers. The crowd that formed in the store after the ribbon cutting occasionally caused chaos.
It was observed that the special campaigns for the opening were not limited to technology products; there was also a crowd in the sections of meat, dry food, furniture, textiles, kitchen, delicatessen, home, decoration, and building materials. Citizens occasionally had difficulty shopping due to the crowd.
The opening ceremony, which included a marching band, clowns, and mascot characters, was attended by the company's chairman Yavuz Yeğen, board member Halil İbrahim Yeğen, company executives, protocol members, and many citizens.
OPENED IN ANTALYA, THE LARGEST IN TURKEY
The supermarket, established on an area of approximately 27,000 square meters, with 50,000 product varieties and a parking capacity of 5,000 vehicles, is noted for being the largest retail store in Turkey, also drawing attention for its ease of transportation and parking. During the intense crowd on the opening day, this advantage came to the forefront, and it was stated that the store would operate not only with special offers for the opening but also with a "365 days of affordable prices" policy.
CAME FROM FETHIYE, ENTERED FIRST IN LINE
Nasuh Orhan, who came from Fethiye in the evening and waited around the mall until the opening hour, was the first to receive a gift voucher, stating, "We came from Fethiye. We were here around 11:00 PM. We waited for consoles, vacuum cleaners, and electronic products. The discounts are great. We saw the opening on social media."
University student Emre Kalağan also stated that they came based on advertisements on social media, saying, "We arrived around 8 in the morning. The weather is very bad, but since we are students, affordable prices are important. There is a significant discount compared to other supermarkets. We also came for the 1,000 TL gift voucher."
Mehmet Başıkara, who queued to buy a birthday gift for his son, said, "The prices are very good. We have been here since 8 in the morning; it took a long time, but it was worth it," while Mehmet Ali Bayrak, who bought a console at half price, stated, "It's a very good campaign. Everyone should offer such opportunities. We came at 9 in the morning and bought it at half price."
