The veteran name of Turkish theater, Haldun Dormen, was bid farewell on his final journey after the funeral prayer held at Teşvikiye Mosque. Fearful moments occurred during the funeral, which was attended by many figures from the art world. Master actor İzzet Günay fainted and collapsed at the funeral. Günay, who was taken to the hospital by ambulance, was calmed down by those around his wife.
One of the leading figures of Turkish theater, master actor and director Haldun Dormen was bid farewell on his final journey after the funeral prayer held following the noon prayer at Teşvikiye Mosque. Emotional moments were experienced during the ceremony, which was attended by many names from the art world.
IZZET GÜNAY FAINTED
During the funeral prayer, master actor İzzet Günay fainted. In those moments, the famous names attending the ceremony provided the first aid to Günay. İpek Günay, Günay's wife, was calmed by those around her as an ambulance was called to the scene shortly.
HIS LAST WISH WAS FULFILLED
Haldun Dormen, who held the title of State Artist, passed away at the age of 97. In accordance with his last wish, a memorial ceremony was held today at the Harbiye Muhsin Ertuğrul Stage. Many famous names from the art and society world, including Erdal Beşikçioğlu, Bekir Aksoy, Fırat Tanış, Gürkan Uygun, Gülben Ergen, Sibel Taşçıoğlu, Celal Şengör, Halil Ergün, Selçuk Yöntem, Şevket Çoruh, Keremcem, Azra Akın, Demet Akbağ, and Halit Ergenç, attended the ceremony.
HALİT ERGENÇ WAS OVERCOME WITH TEARS
Halit Ergenç presented the ceremony in tears, while a special video presentation featuring excerpts from the master artist's 72-year artistic life brought emotional moments to the hall. As Halit Ergenç could not hold back his tears, Haldun Dormen was applauded for minutes after the presentation.
After the ceremony, Haldun Dormen's coffin was taken out of the hall for the funeral prayer. During this time, Halit Ergenç was seen to be overcome with tears. Ergenç walked behind the coffin for a long time, shedding tears.

Haldun Dormen was laid to rest in the family cemetery at Edirnekapı City Cemetery after the funeral prayer held following the noon prayer at Teşvikiye Mosque.
