Forest fires continue to be intervened throughout the country. As a precaution, a total of 3,583 people have been evacuated to safe areas in İzmir, Aydın, Bolu, Muğla, and Manisa. STATEMENT FROM THE COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTORATEIn the statement made by the Communications Directorate regarding the fires, it was stated that "Aerial and ground interventions continue for the forest and rural fires in İzmir, Aydın, Muğla, Manisa, and Bolu. In the forest fires that occurred in Bolu, Aydın, İzmir, Manisa, and Muğla in the last 2 days, 2,134 sorties were made with aircrafts, flying for a total of 583 hours, and 7,662 tons of water were dropped. In addition to the forestry organization, municipalities, police, AFAD, and gendarmerie personnel also provide support with their vehicles to the firefighting efforts." CARS TURNED INTO ASHES IN İZMİRThe flames are turning the places they pass into ashes in İzmir. In the images reflected on CNN Türk screens, it was revealed that vehicles were also burned in the fire area. CNN Türk Reporter Serdar Er said, "The flames were so effective that the car's canvas melted. We see melting here. We see the effect of the flames on the material. A different detail to show the size of the flames. In many places, vehicles and equipment have become unusable." NEW STATEMENT FROM AFADIn the statement made by AFAD, it was stated that "In the last week, 131 agricultural and forest fires occurred nationwide. In order to prevent possible loss of life, our citizens living in settlements close to the fires are being evacuated to safe areas. In this context, 1,430 people in İzmir, 1,475 people in Manisa, 516 people in Bolu, and 550 people in Aydın have been evacuated to safe areas under the coordination of #AFAD, gendarmerie, and police for precautionary purposes. We wish all our citizens affected by the fires a speedy recovery. We strongly remind our citizens to take into account the warnings of the competent authorities in order to protect our green homeland and prevent possible losses." İZMİR FIRE: NOTHING LEFT THAT CONCERNS THE CITYMinister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced the latest situation regarding the fires. Minister Yumaklı said, "Out of 72 fires, 69 have been brought under control. There are 6 active fires. The energy of the fire in İzmir Yamanlar has decreased. There is no issue concerning the city anymore. Some of the smoke is related to the metropolitan municipality's waste transfer facility. There is no situation that will disturb the city. The affected area in İzmir is 1,600 hectares. Two planes and 11 helicopters continue their interventions."
