The heavy rain that was effective in Izmir during the afternoon negatively impacted life. While there were water floods caused by infrastructure issues in the Alsancak Kordon Boyu area of the Konak district, a citizen reacted to the situation by casting his fishing rod into the water in the area where the streets turned into a lake.
The heavy rain that started in the early afternoon across İzmir had a significant impact, especially in the central districts.
KORDON TURNED INTO A LAKE
In the Alsancak and Kordon Boyu areas of the Konak district, infrastructure backflows occurred due to the rain. As a result of the overflowing manholes, roads and green areas along the coastline were submerged. Due to the rising water level, vehicles struggled to move forward, and residents in the area experienced difficult moments.
CITIZEN REACTED WITH A FISHING ROD
In the area affected by the flooding, a citizen used an interesting method to draw attention to the situation. Hakan Acat, who threw a fishing rod into the puddle on the street that had turned into a lake, reacted by trying to fish, highlighting the infrastructure problems. Acat stated that this situation has been a constant issue in Kordon.
