According to the "2024 Turkey Labor Market Research Report" by the Turkish Employment Agency (İŞKUR), the professions that face the most difficulties in finding employees include waitressing, sewing machine operation, and welding.
Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan stated in a social media post that they continue to create policies with the goal of a producing, growing Turkey that expands employment opportunities.
86 THOUSAND BUSINESSES INTERVIEWED
Işıkhan announced that the results reports of the 2024 Labor Market Research prepared by İŞKUR have been published, stating that they conducted interviews with 86 thousand businesses employing 2 or more people, and that the highest demand for labor is in the manufacturing sector. Işıkhan noted that they identified a 29.7% rate of open positions in businesses with 20 or more employees.
PROFESSIONS WITH THE MOST OPEN POSITIONS IDENTIFIED
According to the report available on İŞKUR's website, the professions with the most open positions identified are waitressing, sewing machine operation, sales consultancy, cleaning personnel, gas welding, cashiering, packaging and confectionery work, and freight and passenger transportation driving. Waitressing is the profession that faces the most difficulties in finding employees. This is followed by sewing machine operation, welding, cleaning personnel, plastering, sales consultancy, freight and passenger transportation driving, and gas welding.
FUTURE PROFESSIONS HAVE ALSO BEEN IDENTIFIED
The research also included findings regarding future professions. Accordingly, the professions expected to stand out in the next 10 years, as identified by employers, are software and construction engineering, artificial intelligence, e-commerce and IT specializations, artificial intelligence development, speech and language therapy, and CNC operation.
