Hezbollah Mourns 2 Fighters Killed By Israeli Army

23.02.2024 04:12

Death toll of Lebanese group's fighters since Oct. 8 rises to 208, according to Anadolu tally.

The Lebanese group Hezbollah announced Thursday that two of its members were killed by the Israeli army, bringing the total number of its fighters slain since Oct. 8 last year to 208, according to a tally by Anadolu.

In separate statements, Hezbollah mourned both Hassan Saleh and Hisham Abdullah from southern Lebanon.

The group added that its members "ascended as martyrs on the road to Jerusalem," indicating their deaths at the hands of the Israeli army, without providing further details.

However, a Lebanese security source told Anadolu that two Hezbollah members were killed and three others were wounded in an airstrike targeting a residential building in the town of Kfar Roummane in the district of Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.

The official Israeli Broadcasting Authority said Hassan Saleh was "a commander with the rank of brigadier in the Al-Ridwan Force affiliated with Hezbollah. He was responsible for rocket launches on several areas of northern Israel and was a senior leader in the group with extensive operational experience."
