A discussion took place between Bedirhan Şener, the son of former minister Abdüllatif Şener, and his grandmother Leyla Çetiner at their home in Ayrancı neighborhood in Ankara. During the argument, Bedirhan Şener took his grandmother Leyla Çetiner hostage at gunpoint.

WHO IS ABDÜLLATİF ŞENER?

Abdüllatif Şener was born in 1954 in Yıldızeli district of Sivas. His father's name is Bedirhan and his mother's name is Ahzerat. He graduated from Sivas Imam Hatip High School and completed his undergraduate education at Ankara University Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics and Finance in 1977. He started his academic career as a research assistant at Bolu Sevk and İdarecilik Vocational School affiliated with Ankara Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences and continued his academic career by doing a doctorate in the field of Finance Theory at Gazi University. He became the deputy dean at Gazi University Bolu Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. He served as a faculty member in the Department of Finance at Hacettepe University Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences. He worked as an income controller at the Ministry of Finance.
