Following the annulment decision, CHP Group Chair Özgür Özel stated that during his provincial visits he has been asking citizens for direction, saying, "If the occupation within CHP does not end, we will never leave our nation without an option. If necessary, we will open a brand new page with a new party. This new party will not be our party. It will be the party of women, youth, retirees, workers, farmers, tradesmen, the unemployed, the poor, and the millions whose hope has been taken away."
CHP Group Chairman Özgür Özel spoke more clearly than ever for the first time after the 'absolute nullity' decision against his party. Responding to the questions of Tavır newspaper, Özel gave striking answers regarding the new party following the absolute nullity decision.
"WE ARE THE CADRES WHO DEFEATED AK PARTY FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY"
Özel said, "We are the cadres who made CHP the leading party after 47 years. We are the cadres who defeated AK Party for the first time in history. That's why we are under attack. To stop our march to power, they invented an absolute nullity lawsuit with an unprecedented method. Erdoğan has been talking and struggling for days to prove he has nothing to do with this coup, but in vain. Everyone knows this is not an internal matter of CHP. Erdoğan is at the very center of this. AK Party has appointed a nullity and a trustee to our party to send away the cadres who defeated it. This is what we are experiencing. We are not the losing CHP; we are the winning CHP. We are not the appointed CHP; we are the elected CHP. We will fight to the end to liberate our party, which we have grown with labor, street by street, square by square, from occupation."
"WE WILL NOT LEAVE THE NATION WITHOUT OPTIONS"
Özel, who voiced the signal for a new party for the first time so loudly, said, "After the nullity, I visited 15 provinces. We meet our people at eye level. We continue to listen to our citizens and ask the people for direction. If the occupation in CHP does not end, we will never leave our nation without options. If necessary, we will open a clean slate with a new party. We will build a new politics, democratic competition, rule of law, and clean governance together. With a new and founding politics, we will pave the way for Turkey. This new party will not be our party. It will be the women's new party. It will be the youth's new party. It will be the party of retirees, workers, farmers, tradesmen, the unemployed, the poor, and the millions whose hopes have been taken away."
NEW PARTY
Özel continued his words as follows:
Politics will return to normal. Conspiracies, slanders, and political lawsuits will end. Corruption in the state will cease. This order, which survives with waste, cronyism, nepotism, and consuming people's rights, will now end. Politics will be conducted only by receiving authority from the nation and being accountable to the nation. Turkey will become a country governed by institutions and rules, where everyone is equal. Then, abundance and prosperity will come to this land. Turkey will rise as a strong country admired for its democracy and economy. This new path will be the nation's path against AK Party's dark order. This path will be the path of justice and equality. This path will be the path of democracy, development, and prosperity. This path will be the path that lifts Turkey up."
