The naked lifeless body of a 17-year-old girl was found in a suitcase in Pattaya, a world-famous tourist destination in Thailand. Following the discovery, 46-year-old Australian suspect Simon Carman, who was seen entering the apartment with the girl and later leaving hours later carrying a black suitcase, was apprehended at Bangkok Airport while attempting to board a flight to flee to his home country.

A brutal murder in Thailand's world-famous tourist destination Pattaya has shocked the international community. After 17-year-old Thai national Tunchanok Donhomla was found dead inside a suitcase, Thai police took action and stopped the murder suspect at the airport.

CAUGHT WHILE TRYING TO BOARD A PLANE

Through coordinated efforts between the Pattaya Police Department and the Thai Immigration Bureau, 46-year-old Australian citizen Simon Carman was detained at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi International Airport on Friday around 9:30 PM. The moments when the suspect was caught trying to board a Jetstar flight to Perth, Australia were captured in social media footage.

CAUGHT ON SECURITY CAMERA

In the meticulous investigation conducted by the police, all details of the murder were uncovered thanks to security cameras. Examining the footage, teams determined that suspect Simon Carman and 17-year-old Tunchanok Donhomla entered an apartment building in Pattaya together in the early hours of Thursday morning.

Later footage showed the suspect leaving the building alone a few hours after entering, carrying a large black suitcase. The moments when the suspect loaded the suitcase onto the back of his motorcycle and drove away from the building were also captured on camera.

NAKED BODY FOUND IN SUITCASE

Police teams found the abandoned black suitcase on a railway line near the famous Floating Market in Pattaya on Friday, and the naked, beaten lifeless body of the young girl was found inside the suitcase.

SERIOUS CHARGES AHEAD

Questioned at the airport, Simon Carman claimed he had no involvement in the kidnapping and murder of the young girl, completely denying the charges. However, police authorities stated that the suspect's detention period would continue based on concrete camera footage and evidence at hand.

Authorities announced that formal charges would be filed against the suspect after the completion of the autopsy report, which will determine the exact cause of death. Carman is expected to be charged with 'child abduction', 'murder', 'concealment of a corpse', and 'deprivation of a minor's liberty for sexual purposes'.
