In Çorum, 19-year-old C.Y., who took his mother and father hostage with a knife after an argument, surrendered following a one-hour negotiation by police teams. The mother and daughter sustained cuts on their hands, and medical teams intervened. It was learned that the family had previously sought a restraining order against their daughter.
A horrific scene unfolded in an apartment in Çorum, Kale Mahallesi Mutlu 2. Sokak. C.Y., a 19-year-old girl living with her family, started arguing with her parents for an unknown reason. As the argument escalated, the enraged young girl took a knife and held her own mother and father hostage at home. Upon neighbors' report, numerous police and health teams were dispatched to the area.
A BREATHLESS HOUR-LONG NEGOTIATION
Police teams arriving at the scene raced against time at the apartment door. Concerned for the lives of the parents inside, police began efforts to calm the young girl. After nearly an hour of tense negotiations, C.Y. first released her mother and father whom she had held hostage.

After releasing her parents, the angry young girl then locked herself in the house and continued to resist. Suffering a nervous breakdown, C.Y. began breaking the house windows and damaging belongings. During the incident, the young girl's arm was cut as she shattered the windows, and her mother sustained cuts on her hand. The suspect, persuaded to open the door after long efforts by police, was apprehended and taken into custody. First aid was administered to the injured by health teams waiting at the door.
