In the Kuşadası district of Aydın, Songül Erbek (62) and her daughter Meryem (30) and son Hasan Tezcan (34) were beaten and stabbed by İlhan Dikici and his son Remzi Dikici, who had unlawfully occupied their apartment. The two suspects were arrested after being detained, while Hasan Tezcan, who was seriously wounded in the chest, continues his treatment in the hospital. The victims and their lawyers are demanding that the incident be treated as 'attempted intentional homicide'.
THEY MOVED INTO THE APARTMENT WITHOUT PERMISSION
The incident occurred on Thursday at around 11:00 AM in the Uydukent Site in the Değirmendere neighborhood. Songül Erbek (62), who lives in Istanbul, learned from her friends in Kuşadası that tenants had moved into her two apartments on the 3rd and 4th floors of Bülbül Apartment without her knowledge. Erbek came to the district and went to Uydukent Site with her daughter Meryem Tezcan (30) and son Hasan Tezcan (34).
THEY WOUNDED THE APARTMENT OWNERS WITH A KNIFE
A fight broke out between the family, who knocked on the doors to check their homes, and İlhan Dikici and his son Remzi Dikici, who they claimed had moved into their apartment on the 3rd floor without permission. During the altercation, Songül Erbek, her daughter Meryem, and her son Hasan Tezcan were beaten and stabbed in various parts of their bodies by Remzi and İlhan Dikici. Hasan Tezcan, whose condition was serious, was taken to Söke Fehime Faik Kocagöz State Hospital by ambulance, while his mother and sister were taken to Kuşadası State Hospital for treatment. The two suspects, who fled after the incident, were caught and detained by the police. After their procedures, Remzi Dikici and İlhan Dikici, who were referred to the courthouse on July 31, were arrested.
"I WANT JUSTICE TO BE DONE"
Songül Erbek, stating that she still hasn't gotten over the shock of what she experienced, said, "I bought 2 apartments in Uydukent Site 11 years ago with the money I saved over the years with great difficulty. At that time, the apartments weren't completely finished. In 2023, a person, who I later learned was İlhan Dikici's partner, called me and said they had completed the unfinished apartments. He asked me for 1 million 200 thousand liras first, then 2 million liras, and then he asked for one of my apartments. This June, I came to Kuşadası to check both apartments. I learned that a woman was living in one of the apartments and had been paying rent to the people who attacked us for 3 years. On this visit to Kuşadası, I saw that İlhan Dikici's son, Remzi Dikici, had moved into the other apartment. The father and his son stabbed and beat me, my daughter, and my son in various parts of our bodies. I have a crack in my rib. Also, one of my teeth was broken due to the blow I received to my face. My son's condition is even worse. I want justice to be served," she said.
"I CAN'T GET MY BROTHER'S VOICE OUT OF MY HEAD"
Meryem Tezcan said, "İlhan Dikici and his son Remzi Dikici laid us on the ground and kicked us multiple times. I can't get my brother's voice out of my head. While my brother was on the ground, he kept saying, 'Fine, the houses are yours. Just don't do anything to my mother and sister.' We will never forget what we went through."
"THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT A SIMPLE INJURY INCIDENT"
The victims' lawyer, Uğur Balta, also said, "This is definitely not a simple injury incident. We see that a 62-year-old mother and her children were stabbed in vital areas. This is a very severe attack directed at the right to life. When we evaluate the existing evidence in the file, the victims' statements, and the judicial reports together, we believe that the incident should be considered within the scope of 'attempted intentional homicide'. This is not a picture that can be accepted even in the most primitive societies," he said.
