In the investigation into the Alihan Kuris criminal organization conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the trail of Hilmi Tuna Kuris, who had become a fugitive after not being apprehended in the operation dated August 13, 2026, was reached through technical and physical surveillance carried out by the Intelligence Branch Directorate of the Istanbul Provincial Police Department.

Hilmi Tuna Kuris, the wanted brother of the leader of the Suleymanists, Alihan Kuris, and Erhan Yilmaz were caught while preparing to flee abroad in Marmaris. While Hilmi Tuna Kuris was being sought, 200 kilograms of gold had been seized at a workplace.

Hilmi Tuna Kuris's escape route was deciphered step by step. Here are the details of brother Kuris's escape route...

1- CONNECTION TO ERHAN YILMAZ DETECTED

It was assessed that Hilmi Tuna Kuris might have acted together with Erhan Yilmaz before and after the operation. The GSM line, which was activated on the date of the operation and was determined to have connected via an internet subscription registered in the name of Erhan Yilmaz, was taken under review.

2- MOVEMENT OF THE FUGITIVE'S LINE FROM ISTANBUL TO MUGLA DETERMINED

It was determined that the tracked GSM line went offline in Kadikoy on the night of August 15 and became active again in Mugla on August 16. Thus, a significant technical finding was obtained indicating that the suspects had moved from Istanbul towards the province of Mugla.

3- GSM TRAFFIC LED TO VEHICLE WITH PLATE 34 SL 313

When other GSM data that the line in question had contacted was compared with PTS (Plate Recognition System) records, it was assessed that the suspects were taken to Mugla in a vehicle with flashing lights and assigned plate 34 SL 313. It was determined that the vehicle was registered to San Sistem Lojistik Bilisim Iletisim ve Guvenlik Sistemleri Limited Sirketi and was assigned to former Minister of Interior Idris Naim Sahin between December 17, 2025, and December 17, 2030.

4- VEHICLE'S PREPARATION FOR DEPARTURE FROM ISTANBUL CAPTURED ON CAMERA

It was determined that the vehicle with plate 34 SL 313 took fuel from a fuel station in Kadikoy Kucukbakkalkoy at around 15:15 on August 15.

5- CAMERA FOOTAGE IN IZMIR REVEALED THE DRIVER

The vehicle was again captured on camera at a fuel station in the Kozpinar area of the Selcuk district of Izmir on August 16. The person seen taking fuel and visible in the PTS images was assessed to be Mehmet Ozmen. It was determined that the other individuals in the vehicle did not get out as a precautionary measure.

6- IT WAS DETERMINED THE DRIVER ALSO TURNED OFF HIS PHONE

It was determined that Mehmet Ozmen turned off the GSM line he was assessed to be using at around 12:31 on August 16. Technical analysis revealed that Ozmen kept his phone turned off during the vehicle's outbound and return routes.

7- PTS AND GSM RECORDS CONFIRMED EACH OTHER

The PTS records on the return route of the vehicle with plate 34 SL 313 were compared with the time Ozmen's GSM line became active again. It was observed that the PTS record around 11:05 on August 17 was consistent with the time the GSM line was reactivated in Istanbul. This strengthened the assessment that Ozmen had returned to Istanbul after going to Mugla and turned his phone back on after his return.

8- THE MUGLA LEG OF THE ESCAPE ORGANIZATION UNCOVERED

As a result of evaluating all GSM, PTS, fuel station, and camera records together, it was understood that Mehmet Ozmen assisted the escape of Hilmi Tuna Kuris and/or Erhan Yilmaz by transporting them from Istanbul to Mugla.

As a result of this technical and intelligence surveillance conducted step by step by the Intelligence Branch Directorate of the Istanbul Provincial Police Department, the escape route of the fugitives extending to Mugla was deciphered; after the obtained information was shared with the relevant police units, the process leading to the apprehension of Hilmi Tuna Kuris and Erhan Yilmaz was put into operation.
