A shocking development occurred in the Alihan Kuriş criminal organization investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. It was revealed that the vehicle carrying fugitives Hilmi Tuna Kuriş and Erhan Yılmaz, who were caught in Marmaris Bozburun while attempting to flee abroad, in Muğla was allocated in the name of former Minister of Interior İdris Naim Şahin.

Security units tracking the vehicle with license plate 34 SL 313, which transported fugitives Hilmi Tuna Kuriş and Erhan Yılmaz—who were caught red-handed in the Bozburun town of Marmaris district in Muğla—to Muğla, made a shocking discovery. It was determined that the vehicle in question was officially allocated in the name of İdris Naim Şahin, former Minister of Interior and İYİ Party's first-rank parliamentary candidate for Ordu, until 2030.
CAUTIOUS STOP AT FUEL STATION According to the examinations in the investigation file; it was determined that the luxury vehicle allocated in the name of İdris Naim Şahin took fuel from a fuel station located in the Kozpınar area of Selçuk district in İzmir on August 16, 2026. Examining the License Plate Recognition System (PTS) and security camera footage, the teams identified that the vehicle was being driven by Mehmet Özmen. In the footage, Mehmet Özmen is seen getting out of the vehicle to take fuel, while the fugitive suspects in the back seat never got out of the vehicle as a precautionary measure to avoid being caught. It was determined that Özmen returned to Istanbul in the same vehicle immediately after dropping the fugitives off in Muğla.
Former Minister of Interior İdris Naim Şahin CUT OFF SIGNAL TO MISLEAD THE POLICE One of the most critical details in the investigation was the professional method applied by the driver Mehmet Özmen to lose his trace. It was understood that Özmen turned off his GSM line around 12:31 on August 16 and kept his phone off throughout the round-trip route. It was determined that after the vehicle allocated to İdris Naim Şahin entered the ViaPort License Plate Recognition System (PTS) records at 15:05 on the same day, Özmen reactivated his phone line, which he had kept off, at 11:05 on August 17 (consistent with the ViaPort PTS record) after arriving in Istanbul.
