While discussions about the technical staff at Fenerbahçe continue, a video taken before the Lyon match caused a stir. Some fans, who criticized the movements of the employee, allegedly the goalkeeper coach, during the warm-up, commented, 'How will Fenerbahçe become champions with this technical staff?'
Fenerbahce had drawn 1-1 at home against Lyon in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off round. Ederson was in goal for the yellow-navy team, and the return leg will be played in France on August 26.

During a period when the coaching staff was being debated, footage allegedly taken before the Lyon match has now become a topic of discussion. In the footage, a person claimed to be the goalkeeper coach is seen, during a training session with the goalkeeper, not sending the ball to the goal from different angles but repeatedly shooting towards their own goal. The action, repeated about 8-10 times, caught the attention of some fans who watched the footage.

After the footage spread, the nature of the training became a matter of debate. Some fans criticized the training in the footage, arguing that pre-match goalkeeper warm-ups should include drills for reflexes, positioning, and dealing with balls coming from different angles.
However, it has not yet been independently confirmed that the person in the footage officially holds the position of goalkeeper coach at Fenerbahce. Additionally, it is unknown whether the short clip reflects the entire warm-up program.
CONTROVERSY OVER COACHING STAFF INTENSIFIES
The timing of the footage also drew attention. In recent days, there has been intense debate over the careers and qualifications of some names on the coaching staff assembled by Ismail Kartal.
Ismail Kartal, however, said in his statement before the Lyon match that they had been following the opponent for a long time with his team and were preparing for the match.
