After the dismantling of the 'Joker Gang', which issued fake disability reports for healthy individuals, the Social Security Institution (SGK) has begun to re-examine approximately 1,500 people who retired early between 2020 and 2023. During the checks, it was reported that around 800 individuals in Aydın had their unjust retirements canceled, and a process has been initiated to recover the paid salaries.
A gang that allowed "joker" individuals to take the place of healthy people and obtain fraudulent medical reports from various hospitals to facilitate their retirement was dismantled in an operation conducted in 2023. Many individuals were detained during simultaneous operations carried out in Aydın and Afyonkarahisar.
1500 PEOPLE UNDER REVIEW
In this context, approximately 1,500 individuals who were determined to have retired early with a disability report between 2020 and 2023 in Aydın have been re-evaluated by the Social Security Institution (SGK). SGK reopened the files of individuals deemed to have retired with fake reports and referred approximately 1,500 people for re-examination at different hospitals.
RETIREMENT OF 800 PEOPLE CANCELED, SALARIES TO BE RECLAIMED
In the examinations conducted, it was revealed that approximately 800 individuals, who were found to have a disability rate below 40% and were retired with fake documents, had their retirement rights canceled, and a process has been initiated for the recovery of salaries received to date. It has also been reported that the scope of the investigations related to the incident has been expanded.
