The first HÜRJET to be delivered to the Turkish Air Force Command successfully completed its maiden flight on the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory, following the completion of ground and taxi tests. Accompanied by the first prototype, HÜRJET remained in the air for 18 minutes.
Turkey's first jet trainer aircraft, HÜRJET, developed with national resources by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) under the coordination of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), had its first aircraft to be delivered to the Turkish Air Force Command meet the Sky Homeland on the August 30 Victory Day.
Following the final assembly line activities, the ground and taxi tests were successfully completed, and the decision was made for HÜRJET to fly. In the flight, accompanied by the first prototype, HÜRJET remained in the air for 18 minutes and safely completed its maiden flight.

Presidency of Defense Industries President Haluk Görgün, in his post on his social media account, used the following statements regarding the maiden flight:
"We have brought our HÜRJET to the Sky Homeland on the 104th anniversary of the Great Victory. The first HÜRJET to be delivered to our Turkish Air Force Command successfully performed its maiden flight after ground and taxi tests. The will that carried our independence to victory continues to give wings to our national aviation today."
Thanking those who contributed to the project, Görgün said, "I thank our Turkish Air Force Command, our TUSAŞ team, our engineers, technicians, and all our stakeholders for their efforts in this pride. I commemorate with mercy, gratitude, and respect all our heroes who fought for our independence, especially Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades in arms. Happy August 30 Victory Day" he said.
PRODUCTION BEGINS FOR HÜRJET: 6 AIRCRAFT TO BE PRODUCED IN THE FIRST PHASE
In the HÜRJET program initiated in 2017, a critical threshold was passed with the maiden flight on April 25, 2023. Within the scope of test activities carried out with two produced prototypes, HÜRJET, which reached supersonic speeds, also proved its supersonic flight capability.
Within the framework of the program, it is planned to produce 6 HÜRJETs in the first phase, while test and verification activities continue with two prototypes. Production and assembly work for aircraft in the delivery configuration is also ongoing simultaneously.
