A person, learned to be a retired police officer in Fatih, killed his wife and child at home and then committed suicide. Numerous police teams were dispatched to the scene. The police's examination at the house is ongoing.
In Fatih, retired police officer Mehmet Ali Yıldırım (72), who drew his gun after an argument among family members escalated, killed his wife Söhöyla Yıldırım (61) and his daughter Elif Gülşah Yıldırım (27) before committing suicide. After the investigation at the scene, the bodies of the 3 people were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
3 PEOPLE DIED AT THE SCENE
The incident occurred around 15:30 on Gül Dede Street, Hırka-i Şerif Neighborhood. According to the allegations, an argument broke out between Mehmet Ali Yıldırım and his wife and daughter for an unknown reason. When the argument quickly escalated, Yıldırım drew his gun and fired at his wife Söhöyla Yıldırım and his daughter Elif Gülşah Yıldırım. Yıldırım then committed suicide with the same gun. Upon the notification of those around, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. It was determined by the health teams that all 3 people had lost their lives. After the work of the crime scene investigation teams, the bodies were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
THEY HAD BEEN EXPERIENCING SEVERE INCOMPATIBILITY FOR 3 MONTHS
On the other hand, it was learned that Mehmet Ali Yıldırım and his wife had been experiencing severe incompatibility for about 3 months, and for this reason, Söhöyla Yıldırım had gone to Kahramanmaraş some time ago and returned to Istanbul on Friday, August 28. It was claimed that Mehmet Ali Yıldırım had been receiving psychological treatment for some time due to sleep and nervousness complaints.
