CHP leader Özgür Özel, who commented on the helicopter crash that resulted in the death of Iran's President Reisi, stated, "We hope that there is no link to Israel."

The leader of the CHP, Özgür Özel, made statements about the helicopter crash while visiting Atakum Municipality. He mentioned that there are many speculations about the accident and stressed the importance of concrete facts being revealed as soon as possible. Özel expressed condolences to the Iranian people and state, and called for a thorough investigation to uncover the truth. He warned against making early comments and various speculations due to the sensitivity of the incident. Özel also mentioned that the attacks by Hamas and the resulting loss of 35,000 lives by Israel since October 6th are unacceptable and go beyond Israel's legitimate defense, reaching a level of state terrorism. He expressed hope that such events do not occur in the region and concluded by stating that they are calm but demand the truth to be revealed.
