In the investigation regarding the allegations that "votes were bought on the day of the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress," the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has summoned former CHP leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to testify as a victim. Lawyer Celal Çelik announced that Kılıçdaroğlu would not go to give his statement.
In the investigation regarding the allegations of "vote buying on the day of the congress" during the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress held on November 4-5, 2023, the chief prosecutor's office summoned former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to testify as a "victim."
INVESTIGATION INTO CHP'S CONGRESS CONTINUES
The investigation conducted by the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the CHP's 38th Ordinary Congress is ongoing in accordance with Article 112 of the Political Parties Law and other relevant legal provisions. In the investigation carried out by the Press Crimes Investigation Bureau, 90 individuals, including Ekrem İmamoğlu, who was arrested as part of a corruption investigation and removed from his position as the Mayor of Istanbul, have given statements as suspects, while 36 individuals have been called as witnesses.
KILIÇDAROĞLU SUMMONED TO TESTIFY AS A VICTIM
The chief prosecutor's office also summoned former CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu to testify as a "victim." Additionally, former Hatay Mayor Lütfü Savaş and some delegates had separately filed lawsuits in the courts to annul the congress held on November 4-5, 2023. The annulment cases were consolidated in the file at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance, and the court postponed the case to May 26.
KILIÇDAROĞLU WILL NOT ATTEND THE TESTIMONY
Lawyer Celal Çelik made a statement regarding the matter. Çelik announced that Kılıçdaroğlu would not attend the testimony.
