A routine inspection on the Anatolian Highway in Sakarya turned into a human smuggling operation with the stopping of a suspicious SUV. A search of the vehicle revealed 9 irregular migrants hidden in the front and rear seats as well as in the trunk.
Thanks to the attention of the security forces in Sakarya, 9 irregular migrants were caught inside an SUV vehicle, stacked almost like in a movie scene during an operation conducted on the highway.
While the smuggled individuals hidden in the front and back seats and the trunk were caught, the vehicle's driver was also arrested.
SUSPICIOUS VEHICLE STOPPED
As part of the fight against human smuggling carried out by the Sakarya Provincial Police Department teams under the coordination of the Hendek Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the SUV vehicle driven by A.N. (27) was stopped in the Anadolu Highway area of Hendek district.
MIGRANTS EVEN CAME OUT OF THE TRUNK
During a detailed search of the vehicle, a total of 9 irregular migrants were caught, including in the front and back passenger compartments as well as the trunk. It was determined that the migrants were being transported illegally.
THEY WERE DEPORTED
The captured irregular migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management to be deported after their processing.
The vehicle driver A.N. was arrested by the court after his procedures at the police station. Additionally, an administrative fine of 23,258 lira was imposed on the vehicle, and the SUV was banned from traffic.
