In the corruption case against IMM, the defendants, including Ekrem Imamoglu, appeared before the judge again today. Imamoglu, claiming he was pushed while descending the stairs, shouted 'Who pushed me from behind?' as he said 'Full speed ahead.'
The trial of the major corruption case launched within the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) continued into its 12th week. Before the hearing, where defendants including suspended and detained Ekrem İmamoğlu appeared before the judge, tense moments occurred in the courthouse corridors.
SCUFFLE IN THE CORRIDORS
In the 12th week of the trial, dozens of defendants, including 68 detainees and suspended former IBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, were brought to the courthouse under extensive security measures. As Ekrem İmamoğlu was being taken to the courtroom for identification and statements, a scuffle broke out in the corridor as he descended the stairs.
AS HE SAID "FULL SPEED AHEAD"
İmamoğlu, who claimed he was physically pushed from behind while descending the stairs and uttering his popular slogan "Full speed ahead," turned around and reacted sharply.
"WHO PUSHED ME FROM BEHIND?"
Caught between the security cordon and the crowd, İmamoğlu shouted loudly, "Who pushed me from behind?" The brief tension subsided after security forces intervened.
