STREETS AND AVENUES REMAINED EMPTY
The streets and avenues in the city center remained empty. Only tourists were seen in Cumhuriyet Square, which has become a symbol of Antalya. Some walked with umbrellas to protect themselves from the hot weather, while others cooled off in the sprinklers while watering the green areas.
BEACHES WERE CROWDED
Konyaaltı Beach experienced one of its busiest days. In the city where the breeze from the sea was not enough to cool, citizens tried to cool off by entering the sea, which reached a temperature of 32 degrees. Along with the locals, both domestic and foreign holidaymakers enjoyed the sea, sand, and sun. Some rested under beach umbrellas, while others jumped into the sea from the rocks to cool off.
Meteorology Warned
The Meteorology 4th Regional Directorate stated that the heat wave would continue until the weekend. Experts warned that air temperatures would be 7 to 10 degrees above seasonal norms, emphasizing that especially children, the elderly, and those with chronic illnesses should not go outside between 11:00 and 16:00.
