At İnkumu Beach in Bartın, 58-year-old retired imam Hatip Yılmaz Çiftçi, who saw 3 people being swept away by the waves, entered the sea to support rescue efforts. Çiftçi, who was pulled out of the water along with lifeguards, died at the hospital he was taken to.

Three people swimming at Inkumu Beach in Bartin were in danger of drowning. 

DISAPPEARED WHILE STRUGGLING WITH THE WAVES

Lifeguards and 58-year-old retired imam Hatip Yilmaz Ciftci, who saw the individuals being caught by the waves, jumped into the water to help. After struggling with the waves for a while, Ciftci disappeared from sight. The lifeguards pulled the 3 people and Yilmaz Ciftci out of the water. 

COULD NOT BE SAVED

The retired imam, reached in an unconscious state, was taken to Bartin State Hospital. Despite all interventions, Ciftci could not be saved. It was reported that the health conditions of the 3 rescued people are good.

It was learned that Ciftci's body will be handed over to his family after the autopsy and burial procedures are completed.
